Verified buyer · March 2026Why most shower chairs fall short
Bathrooms are where most falls happen. A good shower chair should make you feel steady, and let you enjoy the soak you used to get from a tub.
Stepping over a tub wall to soak is one of the riskiest moves in the house.
Many shower chairs are thin plastic on aluminum legs, need assembly, and wobble.
Sitting for long periods or incontinence can leave skin red and prone to breakdown.
How SoSoak helps

Double-walled rotomolded polyethylene: the same kind of process used for kayaks and hospital equipment.

High, curved sides keep you upright and supported, unlike flat, backless seats.

Warm water pools in the seat, so you can soak without stepping into a tub.

Nonporous, no cracks or crevices. Resistant to body oils, salt, and cleaning solutions.

"The feeling of safety and security when I can sit comfortably to shampoo my hair. I have grab bars but need more to maintain safety in the shower. The chair is nicely designed"
"For 20 years, I managed pain and stiffness from an old pelvic injury with daily bathtub soaks. Since moving to an Independent Living Community without a tub, my symptoms worsened… after just a week of daily use, it has significantly relieved my symptoms."
"It works really great. I'm 5"1" so it's a good height, my bent toes touch the floor, which is fine, I don't mind dangling my feet for a bit. The water stayed warm for the 20 minutes I soaked, and I felt relaxed afterwards. Well worth the money."
"I am loving the chair. Provides a good soaking. A dream come true. Always had trouble with a regular tub. A blessing."
"Very sturdy & resistant… It is not only wonderful for senior citizens but for everyone that has a disability."
"I really like the chair except for the fact that it's too tall. My mom would like it more if she could relax in the chair without her feet dangling. She cannot get out of it without help."

The seat is about kitchen-chair height (18" front, 16" back), angled so water pools in your lap. Shorter users may want a small shower step for their feet. If standing up is hard, add a grab bar or plan for help.
