Height tip: The seat is about the height of a kitchen chair, angled back so water pools in your lap. Shorter users may want a small shower step for their feet. If the person needs help standing, plan for a second hand or a grab bar.
Our story
"We knew a soak in the tub would help immensely, but we didn't have enough staff to bathe her safely. That night, I sketched the first shower & sitz bath chair. Basically, a bathtub on legs."
Paula was working an extended care unit when an elderly patient couldn't be calmed at bedtime. The cause was painful skin breakdown that wipes and barrier cream couldn't fix. Six years and many prototypes later, SoSoak exists so anyone can get the relief of a warm soak, safely, just by sitting down.

Why does it cost so much?
SoSoak is a medical-grade soaking system, not just a seat. It's made in the USA from rotomolded materials, the same kind used in hospital equipment, and built to last for generations. Making it as a single seamless piece is a complex, labor-heavy process. It's designed to replace multiple cheaper products and offer true comfort and dignity.
Is SoSoak covered by insurance?
Personal bathing devices like shower chairs aren't covered by insurance, but SoSoak is an eligible HSA/FSA purchase and can be fully reimbursable if you have either account.
What size shower does it fit?
SoSoak was designed for the standard shower size of 30" wide by 60" deep. At its widest point, the base of the legs, it's 23.5" wide.
What is the seat height?
The front of the seat is 18" above the floor and the back is 16". The slight angle is what lets water collect and pool in your lap.
Can I use it in a bathtub?
No. SoSoak needs a flat-surfaced bathing area such as a standard shower. A tub reduces stability and adds slip and fall risk.
Do I have to use the hose?
Nope. Use it simply as a shower chair, and use the drain plug or included hose as you see fit.
Can more than one person use it?
Yes. The chair is flame sealed and completely nonporous, so it cleans easily with an antibacterial wipe or mild soap and water between users.
Can I add things to the water?
Yes, if recommended or approved by your doctor. Epsom salts, pH-balanced soaps, and vinegar can all be used safely in the basin.
What is the return policy?
